With credits that number in the hundreds and a wealth of experience in performing, directing and consulting, they are true experts that have a great deal of wisdom to offer. We're extremely happy to be able to offer their insights to you, for free!

Oliver Hollis-Leick

Oliver is a long standing veteran in the performance capture world with over fourteen years experience on almost 100 video game and movie titles. Oliver studied acting at The Bristol Old Vic Theatre School from 2006-09. He also trained in gymnastics and martial arts.

His roles include Iron Man, Ant Man, Agent 47, The Hulk, Master Chief, Spiderman, James Bond and many more. He has worked at studios in the UK, Finland, Sweden, Germany, Russia and the USA for clients that include Microsoft, Sony, Activision, Warner Bros, Universal Pictures, Gorilla, and numerous other esteemed publishers and developers.

 

In addition to his mocap work, Oliver also has voice acting credits on numerous noteworthy projects, as well as acting on both stage and screen.

 

Oliver also directs motion capture shoots, acts as mocap consultant to several high profile clients, holds mocap workshops for actors, and is a contributor to Moviescope magazine and Cracked.com.

Gareth Taylor

Gareth Taylor is a professional freelance actor, movement director and teacher.Since graduating from Guildford School of Acting he has worked with the Royal Shakespeare Company, Red Shift, Chichester Festival Theatre, BAC and on various #1 and mid scale tours.

 

Gareth started out as a professional gymnast. It was this interest in human physiology that lead him to the prestigious physical theatre school Jacques Lecoq in Paris.

Gareth has worked with Punchdrunk, Slung Low, Dancing Brick, Tongue Tied and curious directive, of which he is a Creative Associate.

As a professional performance capture artist for film and video games, Gareth has become renowned for his ability to develop characters through movement. Recent movie work includes Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, John Carter of Mars and Total Recall. He has worked on over 30 games including the Harry Potter computer game series playing a whole host of favourites from Voldemort to Dobby. 

Gareth’s also a freelance movement teacher for a number of Drama schools in London and Guildford, specialising in Animal Studies, Storytelling, Pure Movement and Neutral Mask.

John Dower

John Dower is a Director with over twenty years experience in Film, Television and Video Games.  He started out as an actor himself, then studied at the Polish National Film Schol in Lodz.

 

Since graduating with several award-

winning films, John has directed a number of short films, Television Drama episodes including "Eastenders" and "Casualty" for the BBC and most recently on several video games titles including the Microsoft & Lionhead "Milo & Kate" project and the latest Bond video game, "007 legends" with Activison/Eurocom.


Bringing a film maker's sensibility into video games, John has directed in Motion Capture studios across the UK and USA as well as directing animation and voice in several games. John teaches character creation and storytelling on the Games Design and Development course at the National Film School (NFTS) and acting for screen at East 15 and ALRA drama schools. 

Richard Dorton

Richard Dorton aka Mocapman, is a veteran performance capture actor, director, stunt coordinator, producer, movement consultant and casting director with nearly 100 video game credits to his name.

With over 15 years of experience in motion & performance capture under his belt, Richard has been in the middle of the ever changing technology and processes used in todays world of motion capture.

Including a diverse set of skills in acting, movement, dance, stunts, weapons, Richard has brought to life iconic characters like Darth Vader, Master Chief, Conan, and creatures from games like Left 4 Dead 1 & 2, Silent Hill: Homecoming, Ghostbusters and many more.

 

 

Not only has he done cinematic performance captures for feature films like Jack the Giant Slayer & Spiderman and in games like Call of Duty 3 & 3, God of War 2 & 3 and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II, but tons of in-game moves for characters in Resistance: Retribution, The Uncharted Series, Defiance, & Lost Planet 3 to name a few.

 

“If you’ve played a video game, you’ve probably killed me.” is his favorite quote when introduced as the Mocapman.

TJ Storm

Born in Indiana, raised in Hawaii, this world class actor, martial artist and 5 time Martial Arts Masters Hall of Fame inductee has trained in various styles for over 30 years. His combination of acting and martial arts skills has made him highly desirable to the mocap industry. Most recently, he appeared as Colossus in the Marvel Film: DEADPOOL.

His credits include GODZILLA(2014),  James Cameron’s “Avatar”, Green Lantern, Terra Nova and Falling Skies as well as countless Video Games including: Resident Evil 5, Spider-Man 3, Call of Duty, X-Men Destiny, Devil May Cry IV, Dead Rising, Prototype 2, Battlefield and many others.  

 

Storm is an 8th degree Black Belt, holds belts in Arashi-Ryu Karate, Shito-Ryu Karate, Tae Kwon Do, Ninjitsu, Jujitsu and Northern Shaolin Kung Fu.Storm’s production company, Eye of the Storm Entertainment has several projects in various stages of development. He enjoys working with Big Brothers of L.A., Children Uniting Nations, Stars for Charity Expo and the Shriners Children Hospital, LA.
