Success Stories

 

The most rewarding part of this job is to see students go on to get hired into professional work. Here we take a look at some of those that have already achieved success and begun their career as a performance capture artist.

Alan Maxson

United States

After taking our Intro and Heroes & Monsters classes, Alan Maxson recently bagged himself a job at the new and exciting Technicolor mocap stage in Los Angeles, slipping into the fabled lycra for the first time. We hear it went really, really well. Great work Alan!

Mark Ota

United Kingdom

Mark has taken most of our classes and has worked incredibly hard developing this new skillset. After completeing The Motion Capture Summit in summer 2017, he quickly went on to nail an audition and bag himself a role in a new AAA title being made in the UK. We're really very happy for him! He said of the training:

Hunter Smith

United States

Hunter attended our Intro, Heroes & Monsters and Combat classes in Los Angeles and in Summer 2017 he hit the mocap stage with none other than our Guru and mocap legend, Richard Dorton! They busted their butts performing for a new video game title. He now proudly wears the Mocap Vaults seal on his suit. Excellent work, Hunter!!

Meghan Whitfield

Meghan attended our Intro to Mocap Acting in Texas with TJ Storm in 2017. Shortly after she bagged a role in a AAA video game title where she was performing in cinematics playing multiple roles! Great work Meghan! We can't wait to reveal the name of the game when it's public!

Toy Lei

United States

Toy Lei was one of our first students in 2015. Since attending the Mocap Summit USA she has bagged an amzing job working with Academy Award winners Alejandro González Iñárritu and Emmanuel Lubezki on a six minute VR movie chosen for the Official Selection of the Cannes Film Festival!

 

Toy said "Thanks to the Vaults I felt really confident when I arrived. I rolled onto this set without thought and just did the do!" We're very proud of her. Amazing work, Toy!

Matthew Robinson

United Kingdom

Matthew Robinson has put in the hours with the Mocap Vaults, taking the Intro class, Character and Environment classes with Gareth Taylor, Action & Combat, Heroes & Monsters and the Motion Capture Summit. This, together with his other skills is certainly paying off. We recently got him his first paid gig, with another on the horizon. As early birds go, this one never even goes to sleep! Great work Matthew.

Daniel Relf

United Kingdom

Daniel joined our Intro class in 2016 and went on to take the Action & Combat class later that year. We're thrilled to have found him paid work so soon. A testament to his own talents, no doubt. We can't say what it is yet but we'll reveal all when it's announced. Well done Daniel!

Torrey Lawrence

United States

Torrey joined us in 2016 and has been practicing hard ever since, taking the Advanced class with Richard and Oliver in LA in Feb 2017. He has now bagged a gig with a big developer and we're thrilled about it. Way to go Torrey!

Luisa Guerreiro

United Kingdom

Luisa attended our Intro Masterclass, followed by the Body Lab classes and finally joined us for the 2015 UK Summit. Since then she has found lots of work in two of the major studios in the UK, working on big titles. Her most recent release is the hugely popular Horizons: Zero Dawn, where she played the young Aloy. Luisa also worked on Destiny: Rise of Iron, and has worked with the NFTS Games Course bring student projects to life. Go Luisa!

Amelia Tyler

United Kingdom

Amelia joined us in 2016 for our intro class. Since then she has taken part in the Character, Environment, Heroes & Monsters and the UK Motion Capture Summit. All that work has paid off. She recently booked her first professional performance capture shoot! She can't tell us what it's for yet but we think it's big. Great work Amelia!

Helen Jenkinson

United Kingdom

Helen attended the 2016 Intro Masterclass in London.  She also took part in the Moving Digitally, Action and Combat and Heroes and Monsters workshops.  She recently filmed her first project, performing the motion capture for a short Animation by two final year Animators at Bournemouth University, which is awesome!

James Taylor

United Kingdom

James attended the Intro Masterclass in London in April 2016. He then joined us at the UK Summit. Since then he has been hired professionally and worked alongside Oliver Hollis-Leick on several high profile projects including Destiny: Rise of Iron, and Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, where he was joined by Kit Harrington and directed by Guy Ritchie.

Ari Loeb

Los Angeles, USA

Ari attended the first Intro Masterclass in Los Angeles in 2015, taught by Oliver Hollis-Leick. Following that class, Ari joined us for the Motion Capture Summit, later that year. Ari has since been employed professionally and worked at Rouge Mocap Stage, Digital Domain and Sony. All his projects are still top secret but we'll be glad to release their names as soon as they are announced!

Paul William Mawhinney

United Kingdom

Paul attended our Intro class and the Body Lab with Gareth Taylor, in 2016. Soon after, Paul was hired on two AAA titles, working alongside Oliver and Gareth. Again, the titles are still top secret but stay tuned to hear all about them when they are announced!

Sally Reichardt

United Kingdom

Sally attended our Intro masterclass and Body Lab classes before joining us at the 2016 UK Summit. She has now worked on her first AAA title at Centroid Motion Capture Studios in the UK!

Eliah Mountjoy

Los Angeles, USA

Eliah attended the very first Los Angeles masterclass in 2015 and has since found work as a motion capture artist at Rouge Mocap Stage in Marina Del Rey!

Jessica Troiani

Los Angeles, USA

Jessica took our Intro Masterclass with Richard Dorton and then joined us an observer at the 2016 Motion Capture Summit but was spotted by the folks at Rouge Mocap and has since been brought in to perform demos and testing. This is one of the best routes into the industry and has been the opening for many a professional mocap artist.

Harriet Perkins

United Kingdom

Harriet attended our Intro Masterclass, Body Lab, Heroes & Monsters and our UK Summit 2016. She started with a performance capture shoot directed by our very own John Dower, and now she is a regular at Centroid Motion Capture in London!

Jay Preston

Los Angeles, USA

Jay also attended the first Intro Masterclass in Los Angeles in 2015 and later attended the USA Summit 2015. He now makes regular appearances at Rouge Mocap stage and has also been recruited by Faceware Tech Industries to demo and test their face capture technology.

Leigh-Anne Gilbert

United Kingdom

Leigh-Anne joined us for the first UK Intro to Motion Capture Acting in London, as well as Gareth Taylor's Body Lab classes and the UK Summit 2015. She has since been employed by the National Film and Television School's Games course to work with students as an actor bringing their projects to life!

TK Gorgonia

Los Angeles, USA

TK joined us for the Mocap Summit USA in 2015. He has since become a regular face at Rouge Mocap stage in Marina Del Rey and also works with us filming classes and editing videos.

Mike Bodie

United Kingdom

Mike joined us at the very first Intro to Mocap class in the UK in 2015, as well as the Body Lab and both the UK Summit 2015 and 2016. He now performs motion capture regularly for Talking Tom (who doesn't use weapons, by the way! This photo is from a different project!)

Augusta Woods

United Kingdom

August joined us for the Body Lab class with Gareth Taylor and shortly after she joined Oliver Hollis-Leick for a day of shooting on the AAA title Homefront: The Revolution. Augusta said "Such a brilliant learning curve for picking up quick scripts and thinking in the moment and just using your instinct. Massive thank you!"

Andrew Smith

United Kingdom

Andrew attended our Intro Class, Body Lab and Mocap Summit UK 2016. He also has experience in some of the more technical aspects of game creation. Together, these skills got him hired on a professional job!

Alex Marshall-Brown

Los Angeles, USA

Alex joined us for classes at our LA branch in 2016. After attending the Summit, she got booked for a gig using the Perception Neuron inertial suit. It's so important to remember that more and more work will come from smaller devs using this cheaper, more accessible technology. Alex has also gone on to work for the big studios in LA. Great work Alex!

Jarrell Hall

Jarrel has joined us for the Intro Masterclass, Combat class and the Summit USA 2016. All that hard work has paid off as he has since been recruited to perform mocap for an exciting new VR project.

Jessie Hendricks

Los Angeles, USA

Jessie is one of our Los Angeles students. She started with the Intro Masterclass then attended the Summit 2016 as an observer. Her new skills got her noticed and she recently worked with a company using an inertial suit, the Perception Neuron, proving that mocap technique is relevant to all forms of technology.

Ryan Padilla

Ryan attended the 2016 Motion Capture Summit in Los Angeles. Through the connections and relationships he made during the weekend, alongside the training he received, Ryan was able to book a motion capture session for a huge AAA video game title!

Alex Lehman

Alex is one of our UK students that has taken the Body Lab classes with Gareth Taylor, as well as attending the 2016 Motion Capture Summit UK. He was recently hired for a pro mocap shoot for a new VR game!

Jessica Resheske

Los Angeles, USA

Jessy attended the Intro Masterclass in Los Angeles in 2016, taught by Richard Dorton. Since then she has been hired professionally and worked on some high profile projects including Warframe: The War Within, Marvel Avengers Academy (Spider-Gwen), and some secret projects that she can’t wait to share once they are announced!

Elisabeth Carpenter

Elisabeth attended our very first Intro to Mocap Acting class in Los Angeles in 2015. She is already a very successful stunt performer and has now taken her skills into the volume alongside our illustrious guru, TJ Storm! The project is top secret, for now, but it's very, very exciting.
